
Athletes from all over the world are sharing the role cannabis has played in their lives. Kerr opened up to ESPN about his use of Cannabis after enduring back surgery.
“…With my own recovery from back surgery, and a lot of pain, I had to do a lot of research. You get handed prescriptions for Vicodin, Oxycontin, Percocet, NFL players, that’s what they’re given. The stuff is awful. The stuff is dangerous. The addiction possibility, what it can lead to, the long-term health risks…”

For Kerr, Cannabis ultimately provided relief during an extensive & painful rehabilitation that forced him to miss almost half of the 2015’16 season.
“I’m a proponent of it…I do feel strongly that [cannabis] is a much better option than some of the prescription drugs, and I know that it’s helping a lot of people, which is great.”
Kerr ultimately believes, creating transparent conversations with an emphasis on education and awareness will push Cannabis forward within the Sporting world.
“…To me, it’s only a matter of time before medicinal marijuana is allowed in sports leagues, because the education will overwhelm the perception….”

Earlier this year, the NBA suspended random Cannabis testing for the 20’21 season.
