Liz Carmouche | Moving the Needle Forward in 2022

“My Ah-ha moment for cannabis relief came in trying hemp meds. I used a tincture and slept the best I had in years. I awoke with that realization that it was achieved because of cbd.”

Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouche is a Bellator MMA legend with career highlights that include; competing for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in Women’s Flyweight and Women’s Bantamweight divisions.  Before turning her attention to MMA, Liz spent five years in the Marine Corps as an aviation electrician and completed three tours of duty. She is a constant force and continues to move the sports cannabis conversation forward, advocating for CBD education and awareness.

Dominating 2021, Liz is ready for anything that comes her way 2022;

“I had back to back success competing in the Bellator cage (in 2021). My desire to stay ready paid off and I was able to replace an injured opponent last minute against a young upcoming fighter with an unflawed record. I secured my fastest win in just 35 seconds and that looks to seal an opportunity to fight for the title in 2022.”

Cannabis has made waves in the MMA world helping athletes in a variety of ways, for Liz it’s provided optimal sleep;

“My Ah-ha moment for cannabis relief came in trying hemp meds. I used a tincture and slept the best I had in years. I awoke with that realization that it was achieved because of cbd.”

Liz is using her platform to share her journey with cannabis and provide an invaluable resource for athletes, veterans and the sports cannabis community;

“I’ve defied the cannabis stigma by speaking out every chance I get about its benefits to major media sources, spreading information to people to help educate them, and sharing with people products I have used so they understand how it works… ”

With an opportunity to shift the conversation, Liz has created her own movement, fighting to break the stigma and normalize the cannabis conversation;

“My movement is to normalize cannabis use across all major sports leagues so that everyone can benefit from it… Normalizing cannabis conversation looks to me like speaking with doctors about my use and how it’s helped me. Speaking to my peers about use and benefits as well as talking to elders… Cannabis bans for athletes and the military needs to be removed. As well as providing better testing to distinguish between CBD and Cannabis.”
