Pedalling for a Green Future with Professional Cyclist Andrew Talanksy

Pedalling for a green future with retired professional cyclist Andrew Talanksy.

Andrew Talansky has dominated the cycling and triathlete landscape with highlights that include; competing for Garmin-Cervelo on the UCI World Tour, competing in the 2011 Tour de Romandie, a victory in Europe at the Tour de l’Ain, finishing second overall in the 2012 Tour de Romandie and second in the final stage in the individual time trial, named Garmin’s lead rider for the Vuelta a Espana, second in Paris-Nice, won the 2014 Criterium du Dauphine, 11th overall in the 2015 Tour de France, and in 2017 retired.

When retired pro cyclist Andrew Talansky decided to shift gears from cycling to triathlons he started using different muscle groups which hadn’t been active in years;

“…I’m using muscles I haven’t used in years…My body is constantly inflamed…”

Constantly inflamed, Andrew decided to change course from Ibuprofen, an alternative many athletes have resorted to, and chose CBD.

“I took CBD for a couple of weeks, and there was a noticeable difference immediately…And it wasn’t just that my hip was feeling better. I was less anxious, and I was sleeping better.”

As we keep exploring the world of cannabis medicine, scientists have identified that cannabinoids possess several health potentials by interacting with receptors in the body. Contrary to popular belief, cannabinoid activity is not limited to the endocannabinoid system. Scientists have identified the interaction of cannabinoids and other receptors that may be directly linked to their therapeutic benefits.
