Over the past three years, he’s worked on Runners High 5k; a charitable run firmly settled in the intersection between athleticism, social innovation and dynamic approaches to fundraising and Kairos Research Foundation; a foundation committed to advancing the scientific understanding of the potential benefits and risks of medicines derived from cannabis.
Today he’s on a mission to educate and destigmatize the plant as well as provide equal opportunities for African American entrepreneurs looking to grow the industry.
Diop Shumake joined D Rey on the Halftime Report for a candid infused chat about his athletic journey, the cannabis pivot, cultivation, Runners High 5k, Kairos Research Foundation, mental health & wellness, an infused Halftime Moment, cannabis sponsorship in the major leagues, the future of cannabis, and everything he’s pushing forward to #breakthestigma.
