Rap Icon and Founder of the BIG3 Basketball League, Ice Cube is putting athletes’ health first, allowing players to use CBD for pain, relief, inflammation and more.
“We look at the use of CBD as compassion for our players…”
-Ice Cube
Founded in 2017, the BIG3 is a 3-on-3 half-court basketball league that features past notable NBA Icons as well as some of the best up-and-coming players. With an opportunity to disrupt the basketball world, the BIG3 was one of the first leagues to officially open its arms to Cannabis and today actively works with CBD sponsors. Cube is putting a premium on recovery, relief and advocating for clean natural modalities;
“These guys put their bodies on the line for us and the fans to entertain us with their talent. And as they’re hurting and in pain and there’s something out there that can help them, that doesn’t enhance their performance or intoxicates them…. To me, it’s simple compassion.”
-Ice Cube
Despite the slow adoption of cannabis in the sports world, Ice Cube believes more could be done and the shift away from opioids hasn’t happened quickly enough;
“We want to think about the players and not some dumb policies [in sports] or the policies of our government, which is wrong when it comes to marijuana…The use of CBD when it comes to relieving pain needs to become an alternative to opioids.”
